Held in Common: Between Us | March 2026 | CISTA ARTS Online Exhibition

There are spaces that belong to no single person yet shape us collectively. These are the spaces between—formed through encounter, sustained through attention, and altered by time. Held in Common: Between Us turns towards these relational fields, where proximity and distance coexist, and where meaning emerges not in isolation but through exchange.

The works gathered in this exhibition consider what circulates between individuals, bodies, and places. Some artists explore tangible forms of connection: layered surfaces, intersecting lines, spatial tensions that suggest dialogue. Others trace less visible threads—shared memory, inherited histories, or the quiet persistence of presence across absence. In each case, the emphasis lies not on resolution, but on holding space open.
As an online exhibition, the theme acquires particular resonance. The digital platform brings practices into proximity across geographies and contexts, creating a shared site that is both immediate and intangible. What is “between us” here is not simply metaphorical; it is the condition through which the exhibition exists.
Rather than advancing fixed narratives, Held in Common: Between Us invites reflection on relation as a generative force—one shaped by encounter, sustained by attention, and continually redefined through practice.

The artists whose work features in this exhibition are: Alison Elizabeth Manning, Ayanna Knight, Chris Avis, Claudia Sambo, Elisabeta Carmen Erdos, Elle May Varley, Emily Anastasia, Irena Jurca, Jose Rodriguez, Justyna Lacka, Lateefat Tobun, Megan Welton, Monika Tkaczyk, Natsuki Endo, Obiaje Andrew Ejiga, Oliver Palmer, P.
