Threshold of Inner Gold explores the fragile space between dissolution and emergence.
Built through layered textures, erosion-like marks, and translucent fields of light, the work evokes an inner landscape suspended between memory, spirit, and transformation.
The central luminous passage functions as both wound and portal — a vertical rupture through darkness where light insists on entering. Earth pigments, oxidised tones, and fractured surfaces suggest a process of spiritual alchemy: the breaking down of old structures to reveal something more essential beneath.

Rather than presenting a fixed image, the piece behaves like an emotional atmosphere. Forms appear and disappear depending on distance, light, and perception, inviting the viewer into a contemplative state where uncertainty itself becomes meaningful.

Created through Monika Tkaczyk’s layered approach to painted and kiln-fired glass practice, the work reflects an ongoing exploration of thresholds — between presence and absence, material and energy, destruction and renewal.
