Threshold of Presence

Threshold of Presence explores the space between darkness and light — a moment of transition where memory, presence and transformation meet.

The work is created on glass using stained-glass techniques, glass paints and glass inks, developed through multiple kiln-firing processes. Layers of deep charcoal, olive, earthy tones and translucent washes create shadow-like forms on the left, gradually dissolving into a lighter field of blue-grey, muted blush, ochre and warm as copper.

Fine marks, scratches, organic lines and circular forms appear within the surface, suggesting fragments of memory, unseen connections and figures emerging from the darkness. Subtle golden and warm tones catch and reflect the light, giving the glass a changing quality depending on its surroundings.

Rather than depicting a literal scene, the work invites the viewer to experience a threshold — the moment between what has been and what is yet to emerge.

The layered kiln-fired surface gives the piece both depth and permanence, while the reflective nature of glass allows light to become part of the artwork itself.

I’m Monika

Glass artist specializing in stained glass and painted glass – blending light, creativity, and intention. Also an IT professional, bringing precision and depth into every projects.

My art is not only about form and colour – it is about energy and transformation.
In my spiritual practice, I guide others through Theta Healing, meditation, and inner journeys.

This path complements my artistic work, as both are rooted in light, intention, and the desire to inspire change.

Each artwork is created through multiple stages of painting and kiln firing. Layers of vitreous glass enamels are permanently fused into the glass at high temperatures, creating depth, texture and luminosity that cannot be achieved with surface paint.
