The Threshold

The Threshold

A partially revealed face emerges from a dark atmospheric field while a vertical golden line divides the space. The line does not represent a fracture, but a moment of passage — a silent threshold between past and transformation.

The restrained palette and layered surface create a sense of suspended time, where identity reforms and light begins to enter through the smallest opening.

This artwork reflects the fragile inner moment in which change becomes inevitable and the unseen future quietly begins.

Technique:

Mixed glass painting created using tracing black for glass and silver stain gold, developed through layered washes, scratching techniques, and controlled surface abrasion. The flat surrounding plane is intentionally treated differently to create atmospheric contrast and spatial depth. Linear elements act as visual passages, inspired by structural divisions found in stained-glass composition.
