A fused glass panel showing two small figures growing together under a tree heavy with red apples. The sun shines above, with blue clouds and glass frit adding texture and sparkle.

This work was made using glass paint and fusing – paint applied by hand, then fired in a kiln to melt into the glass forever. I started with a clear glass base, sketched the tree with its deep brown trunk and roots, then added the two figures: one blue, one yellow, sitting close at the base like young souls finding each other. Hundreds of tiny red glass beads became apples, green frit the leaves, and blue dots the sky. After painting, it went into the kiln at 650°C, where everything fused into a glowing, permanent scene. The title “Tree of Love – The Development of Two Souls” celebrates how love grows strong, like roots and branches reaching for the light.
