A hypnotic blue spiral made with the traditional copper foil technique. The repeating, twisting shape catches light from every angle and shifts colour as you move around it.

This piece was a pure experiment with copper foil soldering – the classic method used by Tiffany himself. I started with a simple idea: what if I made a Mobius strip, that endless loop that flips inside out? I cut dozens of tiny blue glass squares and triangles, wrapped each edge in copper tape (sticky, fiddly work!), and soldered them together on a flat board. Halfway through, it started to lift and twist into three dimensions, which was both terrifying and exciting – would it hold? With careful heat from the iron and a lot of flux, the spiral locked into place. Now it hangs in the window, endlessly turning sunlight into deep aquamarine rivers. It’s a reminder that the best art often comes from playing with shape until it surprises you.
