Monika Tkaczyk

Monika Tkaczyk is an active leader within the Polish community in the United Kingdom, with more than fifteen years of sustained engagement in social, organisational, and cultural initiatives supporting the Polish diaspora. She currently serves as a member of the Presidium of the Polish Union in Great Britain. Previously, she has held leadership or collaborative roles with Poland Street, the Individual Members Circle of the Polish Union, St John Ambulance, New Europeans, and the United Kingdom of Polish Women.

She has been closely involved in organising numerous community events of historical, social, and cultural significance. Her work has included projects commemorating major historical milestones such as the 30th anniversary of Solidarność, as well as initiatives aimed at strengthening the positive image of Poles in the United Kingdom, including advocacy connected with the withdrawal of the controversial film “Londyńczycy.” She has also co-organised poetry and music evenings with war veterans and annual Polish Independence Day celebrations, including the landmark centenary event held at the Royal Albert Hall.

For over twenty years, Monika Tkaczyk has actively contributed to the promotion of Poland internationally, representing the Polish diaspora at numerous high-profile events and meetings. Through these engagements, she has had the opportunity to meet, collaborate with, and document Poland’s story alongside distinguished figures from business, politics, public life, and individuals who have helped shape contemporary Polish history.

Monika holds a degree in Political and Administrative Studies from Poland and two Master’s degrees in Information Technology obtained in the United Kingdom. Professionally, she works in IT within the NHS, applying her technical expertise and experience in information systems.

In 2022–2023, she served as Secretary of POSK (the Polish Social and Cultural Association in London), where she introduced a range of organisational improvements. Her responsibilities included overseeing property rental processes, coordinating with agencies, and strengthening administrative structures. Her work contributed to increased operational efficiency and reinforced POSK’s role as a leading cultural and community hub for the Polish community in the UK.
